An impressive Tibetan telescopic trumpet (Dungchen), crafted in copper and brass and dating to the early 20th century, circa 1900–1910, later converted for use as a sculptural floor lamp. Traditionally employed in Buddhist ceremonial and monastic contexts, the Dungchen is distinguished by its elongated, tapering form and richly ornamented metal mounts.

This example retains its original hammered copper body sections, joined by cast and chased brass collars decorated with scrolling foliate motifs and knot symbolism. The warm, naturally aged patina across both metals reflects age and ceremonial use, giving the piece depth and authenticity. The trumpet has been sympathetically adapted with a lamp fitting to the upper section, allowing it to function as a dramatic vertical light while preserving its original character.

Its scale, materials, and surface detail give the lamp a strong architectural presence, making it particularly well suited to eclectic, gallery-style, or globally influenced interiors, where it reads equally as object and illumination.
A rare and visually striking conversion, combining ritual history with sculptural interior design.
