A finely worked Tibetan ceremonial horn (Dungchen), formed in copper with substantial brass mounts and richly detailed relief decoration. The horn is embellished throughout with repoussé and cast ornament, including scrolling foliate motifs, geometric borders and a striking dragon-head terminal — a powerful and traditional symbol within Himalayan Buddhist culture.

The surface displays a deep, glossy patina to the copper body, offset by the warmer gilt tones of the brass decorative bands and fittings. The horn retains its original form and fittings and has not been converted or altered. Wear and surface variation are consistent with age and ceremonial use and contribute positively to its character.

Dungchen horns were traditionally used in Buddhist ritual contexts and are increasingly appreciated today as sculptural objects, valued both for their cultural significance and their dramatic visual presence within interior settings.
